NGC 5082

NGC 5082 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus. Its velocity with respect to the cosmic microwave background is 4,153±46 km/s, which corresponds to a Hubble distance of 199.8 ± 14.3 Mly (61.25 ± 4.38 Mpc). However, three non-redshift measurements give a closer mean distance of 152.97 ± 3.46 Mly (46.900 ± 1.060 Mpc). It was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel on 3 June 1834.
