Roche-lobe overflow

Stella "loses her grip" if Buzz pulls too hard or not hard enough, causing tidal forces to either break apart the binary system or keep it intact.

A process where a star expands to fill its Roche volume, the zone around itself and its companion where tides cause material loss.
