Lagrange Point (L1)
a special spot in space called the Lagrange Point (L1). This was far away from Earth, but close enough to watch what happened above our planet.
Technical definition
A gravitationally stable point in space, located where the gravitational pull of two large bodies (in this case, the Sun and the Earth) equals or dominates other forces affecting a smaller body.
