Dark matter annihilation as energy source for SMDSs
Scientists call these supersized stars "supermassive dark stars" (SMDSs). What makes these monsters special is not how they shine with light, but what fuels them. Instead of burning up regular old hydrogen and helium atoms to make light, SMDSs are powered by something way cool: dark matter.
