Alfvén waves
These smaller waves start to play with each other, bouncing back and forth in a sort of cosmic wave dance. This game continues when energy from the primary Fast Magnetosonic (FMS) wave gets split into two new types of waves.
Technical definition
Alfvén waves are magnetohydrodynamic waves that propagate along magnetic field lines in a plasma.
